To Shimelis Abdissa and Caffee Oromia: Your Silence on Moyale Is Betrayal

To:
- Shimelis Abdissa, President of Oromia
- Caffee Oromia, The National Assembly of the Oromo People
Shame on you!
Days have passed since the Somali regional parliament declared Moyale and parts of Oromia as its own on 26th July, hoisting the Somali flag over Oromo land — and you’ve said nothing. Not a word. Not even a token protest.
Where is your outrage?
Where is your leadership?
Where is your voice?
This is not just silence — it is cowardice, plain and raw.
This is not just negligence — it is complicity.
Moyale is not a border town up for negotiation. It is Oromia. And yet, you watch — hands folded, mouths sealed — while Somali flags replace Oromia’s, and while federal forces stand by, if not cheer it on.
What exactly is your job, Shimelis Abdissa, if defending the territorial integrity of Oromia is not part of it?
What do you legislate, Caffee Oromia, if not to speak for the people whose land is being handed over without consent?
You claim to lead, but you hide when Oromia is wounded.
You claim to govern, but you govern nothing when others redraw the map.
We say it again: Shame on you — for your silence, for your fear, and for your betrayal.
The people are watching. History is recording.
And Oromia will remember.
